How do I sign my 16-17 year old up for the GED test?
The student must show withdrawal papers from the school he/she is now attending in Collier County. You can obtain withdrawal papers from your high school guidance department. Parents need to fill out the Age Waiver permission form when they come in with their 16-17 year old to register.
How long does it take to get the results back?
Results will typically be mailed to your home address within 4 to 6 weeks.
I took the test in another state, but didn’t pass all five tests, are they still good?
Those who have taken the test in another state and wish to retest in Florida will need to request an official transcript of previous test scores from the state in which the tests were taken. These scores must be sent directly to our office from an official GED test center. Scores sent from the examinee will not be accepted. These scores must be received in the Adult & Community Education office prior to you taking the GED test in Florida. Have them mailed to: Collier County Public Schools, Adult Education, 5775 Osceola Trail, Naples, FL 34109.
How can I register for the GED classes?
To register for the GED classes at Lorenzo Walker Institute of Technology (LWIT), students will attend an orientation. Space is limited so you should pre-register for orientation at the front reception desk in person or by calling 239-377-0900. When you arrive, check in at the reception desk. The orientation and testing will begin promptly, so please arrive on time. To register for classes at the Golden Gate Adult Learning Center (GGALC), you may arrive between the hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 12 p.m. and Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. For more information, please call 239-377-3905.
